Aside from the three main factions, one of which the player will have to join, there are, to date, three guilds:
Two more are expected to make an appearance after game launch:
- Dark Brotherhood
- Thieves Guild
These guilds will also provide additional guild-specific skill lines and artifacts to their members.
The Fighters' and Mages' Guilds will be in at launch, with Thieves' and the Dark Brotherhood to be added later. Fighters' Guild members will be tasked with hunting Daedra and banishing Molag Bal's Dark Anchors from the surface of Tamriel. Mages are tasked with tracking down necromantic lore, in the form of books, scattered around Tamriel.
